The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 疫情题材被Judd Apatow玩出了新花样，笑料堆砌，段子满天飞，玩梗吐槽一大摞，是熟悉的阿帕图风格。只是这拉垮的节奏，太影响观感了。
两星半。看得出导演功力有点捉襟见肘，虽然也是疯狂吐槽向，但是和《不要抬头》比起来还是很散。不过对行业现状的挖苦和对拍摄过程的吐槽还真是很有意思，尤其是制片人投资方的“食物链”，有点真实，而且把新冠大流行的背景完全融入到整个剧本中，关注到了隔离状态下不稳定的精神状态，还是有一些现实关怀的
