The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 小成本、小制作、小演员，但是故事很完整，包袱不断而且不尬，看着开心！
比很多院线电影好看，不过后面20分钟太啰嗦了。挺好一个故事
国产现代片儿需要解决的一个问题是可信度，先把可信度问题解决了再玩梗啊，要不然看着累

一个专业很好家庭幸福的小孩去百老汇试镜成功并顺便在抖音走红的故事，全片最大的矛盾是亚裔小女孩对他的嘲笑……
崔志佳是个有能力的演员，也是一个有潜质的导演，我欣赏他，缘于他的演技和综合水平！只打三星/6分的原因，是故事欠缺新意，简单了些，其他剧情的铺展以及笑点的设置，还是挺好的！
挺好的，大崔人畜无害，看着乐呵，浅浅淡淡稳稳的小品电影，当然不能思考不能深究，下泡面，比《洗浴之王》好，打个8分鼓励一下。
比很多院线喜剧都强，挺有意思，记录我们的时代。看影评学到术语「荷兰角」，查资料说，当你在你的构图中使用斜线（道路、走廊、等公交车的队伍）, 你都是在二维电影画面中营造三维空间感。
唉，当初爱笑那个翩翩少年崔志佳，时光对你做了什么？
3.5 崔志佳这几个东北接地气的喜剧弄的还不错
晚上看着电影点了好多烧烤，点的烧烤外卖还真好吃。
如果一个人没有梦想（普通话）
拍小品的去拍电影很大程度会成为灾难，如果拍电影的过程中还谋求向相声方面的转型，就会像本片一样把包袱也给忘了。
格局小了，如果李茂扮太子和温暖的抱抱这种片都敢上院线的话，对于“烧烤之王2”，我的建议是直接冲击春节档，二选一我会选你的。
作为一部喜剧片来说肯定是及格的，但是笑点不足，我觉得大斌要是能参演绝对会让人眼前一亮
小品也可以拍一个半小时，只要你肯投资。1.5倍速看完，一点都不好笑！
