The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 看睡了。看起来很努力，实则被A24系吊打。
为了恐怖而恐怖，剧情分了几个点，但怎么也连不起来。
段子够讽刺但台词不好笑，用脏话当笑点是一种偷懒。
就全当是看美国被遗忘得地界儿，一代又一代的人困在那里，吸毒制毒也没啥出头之日。当一部恐怖片的优点是里面的景色和环境很出彩，那就不太合适了……其实前面氛围营造不错，可当有破体梗的时候，居然给一个镜头就剪辑到别的画面了，这实在不应该，我期待得可是变蝇人那个级别的变化过场，想象那个年代能做到，反而当下的影片直接就退缩了。其实通篇就是个弑杀变态父权的主题，告诉观众有类似情况，不要隐忍于这种父权之下，必须做出反抗。
怎么会拍出这样的剧情，明知道有怪物还拿手电筒去照，一个一个送，什么脑子剧情，脑残
有点无聊了 就几个镜头jump scare还可以
被严重低估的新片，恐怖血腥暴力，必须满分拉回评分，很好看
2.5颗星吧....总感觉没说明白..结束得太草率了......虎头蛇尾.不过女主角是真的生猛哦.
烂片场猛于疫情，Bad Taste，但很像干净版的《特罗马警报》，把烂片桥段一锅炖，真类型元素嵌套伪类型元素，毫无包袱地将一些很“时下”的笑料放置其中，有愚乐精神。
看前面基本就猜到是“温迪哥”的传说了，对影调和氛围的把控相当沉浸，怪物身上撇去了原传说里单纯的细长身影更添了一丝邪教图腾意味。既然故事也明点了本是警示意味的传说，可是小男孩和父亲之间的难以割舍除了看出男孩全片演技最棒外没别的，姐弟之间的情感缝合也没有，故事的意味感没有随着女主看出小男孩照射自己身上的童年不幸来通过高潮形成一个完整闭环，试听上是唯一享受了
和小青一起看。邪恶力量里面的windigo不吓人actually。
有些东西可指可点，但整体好平庸啊

破碎的家庭，荒凉的小镇，有嫌隙的姐弟，多年后返乡。
虽然剧情很烂 但非常喜欢这种冷色调与神秘主义
这片咋说呢，应该隐喻挺多的，反应的事儿也不少，但该隐喻的挺明显，该表达的挺隐晦，结果是女的把鹿🦌怪直接干死了，有点鸡肋
