The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 就在我以为今晚要看一部无聊的中年家庭危机电影，剧情就开始急转直下，二夫妻各怀鬼胎互下死手。并且每次某方到了穷途的时候必然又是一波“意外转折”，看似刻板的北欧人疯魔起来，血浆加爆笑也是嗨得不行。各种屎尿俱下血泪横流回转穿插高潮迭起，2021这片的黑色幽默不吹爆简直不科学。直到老爷子出场我顿悟这片就是在致敬一种现代北欧人缺乏的维京精神，直面惨烈人生的勇气。
最喜欢这种不断反转的电影了，夫妻感情不和，出门旅游一下，顺便沙雕几个沙壁和装逼犯，手牵着手，一起反转人生！
感觉比起史密斯夫妇的装逼更有意思。印象深的一段。。。隔壁老头絮絮叨叨的绕了一大圈才跟他老子提到家里可能遭贼了，这一段拍的真有趣😅
最后那个好莱坞翻拍的点子太灵光了，本来除了男主以外，这片子汇聚了大男子主义者、女权、反社会者、同志、新纳粹这五大角色，就数男主没啥意思，好莱坞一翻拍=政治彻底正确，意思一下就有了~
各种巧合加意外加反转加倒叙，总体上还算不错，不过还不能说特惊艳，是因为这类型电影已有珠玉在前。不过主角是两夫妻还是有创意的，夫妻关系在度假中跌宕起伏，人生也自此翻转，有讽刺也有真意。还挺好玩。
我的天，竟然是部发生在「林中小屋」的恐怖喜剧片：1.劳米·拉佩斯饰演的女主比上一部看的《致命女人 第二季》还致命；2.前史回顾看到三名男子在丛林穿行的段落直接联想到《逃狱三王》，而后面的血腥暴力动作戏则联想到《准备好了没》《双宝斗恶魔》《群尸玩过界》等片；3.“爆菊”情节真是意外转折的笑点；4.“根据真实事件改编”拍摄的电影可能与“事实”有出入；……
前三分之二和后十分之一都没问题，后面三分之一导演是怎么了？是对血腥镜头欲罢不能吗？是觉得血浆买多了不用浪费吗？还是既然到湖边了那我们不能浪费外景钱？前面还很推荐，演到这里只想快进，没见过这样一心逃跑，不会反杀的主角
8分吧，结尾加一分（剧本打磨的不够好）
网飞挪威分部出品质量还不错，以传统黑色喜剧文本为底板，喷薄的血浆与恶趣味转折相得益彰，对戏内导演与演员身份的戏谑性解构饶富趣味，也是创新之处，可惜仅限开头和结尾。
對這種靠巧合爆漿堆砌出的所謂「爽片」已無感，有趣的大概只有幾處揶揄嘲諷政治正確的地方。

舔鞋的地方想到《趣味游戏》，但是是否有这情节已记不太清，《圣鹿之死》倒是有。老爷子全场最佳，挪威够猛啊，实在是没想到情节设定会让老爷子卷入除草机
各种不合逻辑，各种搞笑扯淡，各种血浆杀人，就是一个完全不用带脑子看的爽片
笑喷了，导演拍过《死亡之雪》系列，《普罗米修斯》女主依然非常强势，女演员和导演是夫妻，两人互喷互相拆台，之间爆发夫妻战争。强烈推荐，放松下来享受黑色幽默带来的爆笑

超级cut，奈飞和挪威电影的完美结合。剧本好，演技棒。看来风景并不是好莱坞独好。期待奈飞盘活香港电影！
