The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 基本是北欧神话加上美国人对古代北欧的臆想，不尊重历史，毫无科学。。故事有结构，但没逻辑。
大气的维京王子复仇记。导演没延续前两部成功的小成本电影路线改走大场景大特写来营造维京人野蛮强悍。投资花在冰岛瑰丽美景并强调个人风格内容显单薄而空洞。形式大于内容的作品（喜欢在火山岩浆上那场决斗戏）

相当有趣，甚至在一些单场戏里变成了某种具有荒诞喜剧气质的恐怖片。必须要承认剧作与价值观的老套保守，制片厂与导演撕扯的痕迹也足够明显，但电影终究是视听语言的艺术，Eggers运用艺术电影级别的调度搭载神秘主义与类型元素，最终达成了一种妖异的“美感”与“爽感”（尽管根据场外信息来看这也许是制片厂逼迫的结果）如果真的要靠所谓的“大片”把观众留在电影院，那我宁愿选这部而不是“三虫同框”
是那种时间漫长的好看，风景好看，主演好看，直到最后火山的对决才好看

很难被娱乐到，尤其是看完权游《血色婚礼》和二丫复仇后。
所有精力都放在影响上了，都忘了自己拍的是剧情片吧。故事写得太弱了啦。黝黑的画面更是令人昏昏欲睡。
最新的一些艺术电影都像是一场行为艺术，戛纳成为了这个美术馆。
