The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 现在的动画已经没有了上世纪的作品中“敢于不给出答案”的勇气了，沉迷于给没有回答没有终点的人生创造所谓的“答案”，还是无聊得要死的答案：生活很美好，凌波零打开心扉，碇真嗣拯救世界，明日香只想被摸摸头，司令心理治疗大成功，用这碗全员成长鸡汤给本就庸俗的新剧场版做结尾，太完美了！
最后半小时全程都在哭。真的太共情了。
最后大家的退场情怀拉满，其他都极其平庸，过程处理远不如真心为你
新世纪不再有福音战士。温和得甚至有些矫情，不痛不痒地画上了终止符。
漫长的中二时光终于结束了，痛快的哭了一场。2021，终。

动画剧集的神开篇，到剧场版直接世界重启/平行宇宙，到这部完美结尾，创造了一个有EVA的神话世界，又能回到现实中来，过了十几年，就是每个人都过的跟想象中不一样，又可以接受
