The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 谈善言还挺好看的，剧情就浮云吧，简直像一个大学作业。
阿谈同Renci这对搭档我期待了一年半，终于在Mardi Gras电影节看到。私心为选角加了一星。成片的结构比我想象的还要零碎，仿佛任何一段截出来都能当MV。虽然影片有不少地方不够完善，但又不可以说看完觉得特别失望，说到底还是这类型的粤语片太珍稀，所以补上了一些满足感；暂时还没把期望放很高，李芯悦和李咏蓝的故事对我来说也就还有可以回味的地方。哼，主题曲听完眼袋又重了。
錯過了《一級指控》，把戲飛給了這套。影評人對兩位新導演真的很好了，有讚無彈。只能說還有很多進步空間，希望能收個五百萬吧，再給我從小就開始看的楊潮凱一個機會。兩位主角倒是演得不錯，一個有演技，一個合眼緣。

抛开青春疼痛式的剧情以及大柔光式滤镜，她们从头到尾都是双向的，中学那一段当然是爱情。一起看《蓝宇》的时候芯悦眼中抑制不住的爱意，操场雨中芯悦的回吻，写悔过书但不悔过，如果不能做爱人，那就做一辈子的best friend吧。PS主题曲很贴切很好听
明明你也很爱她，为什么不去求一个结果？只要随孤勇而上，只要“勇气是唯一的回应”。
本来很期待的，但剧情太拉垮了，跳跃式的就很无语，想2星，但女主好看。
1⃣️人生有太多来不及告别的。2⃣️两个人有共同的过去，却不一定有共同的回忆。有3⃣️几段还蛮无聊的，但有些又很有趣。4⃣️一直都是芯悦比较勇敢，帮咏蓝承认带手机、雨中在操场激吻、被让写检讨书却并不想承认错误…但是为什么坚持到最后的却是咏蓝呢？婚礼上，悦给蓝戴上戒指的那一幕，我觉得我的心都碎了…5⃣️你离开后，我活成了你的样子。

大型MV，这么好的题材和摄影，好看的演员，剧情却拍成这样分崩离析，竟然还想讲点亲情？？2个女主简直行为思维错乱…这编剧水平快赶上 逐梦演艺圈 了。这么好听的主题曲…白瞎了…

整体就是一个习作吧，拍摄剪辑技巧什么的就放一边吧。前面的部分可能我没读过女校不太能看出端倪。让我觉得不舒服的位置大概从谭善言赌气上了男性朋友开始，一直持续到结尾。不停乘人之危，不停卵子上脑，最后在杨偲泳大婚日子发问，性质和前男友跑进新娘房问新娘有没有爱过自己一样，两个人都好像对自己对他人很不负责任的感觉。可能我代入的是同妻吧，没有找到泪点
同时也完全包括了各种的烂俗桥段:分手 重逢 约定
我喜欢她们俩演戏的那场戏，拿着钟闭着眼发出滴答的声音，然后亲吻。
