The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 很舒服也很有深度的末日公路片，从圣路易斯到旧金山，这一路上人类、机器人与动物三者之间的牵绊关系尤为精彩。刚刚被芬奇研发出来的高级智能机器人由于恶劣环境而被迫踏上逃离圣路易斯的道路，芬奇指引着它每一步的成长，从站立到走路，从起名到搜寻物资，有苦恼，也有欢乐。有时让人开怀大笑，也有时让人极度苦恼。机器人杰夫独立意识渐渐增强，却发现芬奇的时日已不多，当芬奇离去后，杰夫像是注入了芬奇的灵魂，与小狗一起到达了目的地金门大桥，完成了芬奇的遗愿。
好莱坞把演员都逼成了类型演员，汤姆就一直是陷在困境里的寡人～机场，孤岛，飞机，战舰～这一部的机器人，的确有太多“霹雳五号”的基因，话唠，学开车，连最后的蝴蝶元素都是～不过成长的契机就有点迷，只能当成是剧情需要，形势所逼～当它和芬奇讨论给自己起名的时候，我差点以为会说出“星期五”或是“威尔森”的来～语音设计故意选择了不看好人工智能的霍金同款IBM语音包，不过很快就成长为一个大小伙子了～与机器人熊孩子如何相处？又一个新课题～幸好编剧野心不大，把这个末世公路片讲得还比较完整，不然就又成了东扯西拉啥都没讲好的空洞特效片～“当意料之外的事情发生时，你才知道怎么去做，也明白了自己是哪一类人”，这是这部片最好的台词。

看完后莫名的心情低落…有同感的吗？抑或只是时也命也？
上山、下山，每个人有自己的路要走。赞电影尊重现实，没有给主角们一个因舞狮夺冠就走上光鲜未来的结局。很喜欢电影里满满的乡土文化，感情充沛的插曲，堪比实景拍摄的细腻画面，和即使明知是煽情套路也让人留下泪水的感人片段。虽然大量打工少年和留守儿童可能不会看到这部电影，但看完电影的你和我难道不会对他们更多尊重和关爱、不会懂得无论身处何种境遇，每一个个体都可以在自己的人生轨迹里创造精彩吗。中国的动画电影做出了成人和孩子都可以欣赏的好故事，很棒👍
国漫终于不是一水的大眼睛大胸大长腿了，普通人也可以做主角了，前面的煽情略尬，一直在套路，最后结尾突然反套路升华，毛不易的歌一出来眼泪就掉下来了，绝配，如果对白是粤语或方言会更自然，但是现在已经很棒了！
和《大圣归来》的观感很像，好看但没法沉浸，因为各种拿来主义太容易让人出戏了，何况《少林足球》和《狮王争霸》我都看了十几二十遍。
同类型片里我始终更喜欢《我是传奇》，这一部算不上特别的好，但是也拍出了自己的特色，以机器衬托人类，对于他人的信任，亲情的传承，人类给自己所设的边界与限制，是啊，我们人类就是这么可笑的物种。可是看完又有一丝悲伤，最后释然。
请参考莫言的《丰乳肥臀》，马尔克斯的《百年孤独》，诺兰的《记忆碎片》和范多梅尔的《无姓之人》，学习一下如何把平凡的事情讲的陌生而又惊心动魄，再学习一下如何集聚情绪，在情绪高点却把惊心动魄一笔带过。

除了被人诟病的的人物造型（可能前期太多人上图骂，我反而看惯无视了…），总体色彩难看是它的最大短板（又烂又脏的配色，绘画大忌），令前面的剧情加倍不吸引人～

一人一狗一机器人，演技依旧在线（但只因他是汉克斯，于是对大部分影迷而言，只会觉得稀疏平常，正常发挥），情感浓度充足（但剧情属实四平八稳，毫无惊喜）。整体中规中矩，汉克斯保证影片质量的下限，但上限及其有限。唯一打动我的是杜威“死掉”的那一幕。★★★☆

软科幻+灾难让人玩烂了，公路+温情也让人玩烂了，结果就有人把软科幻+公路+灾难+温情还能玩的明明白白！
末日铲屎官，温暖极了。哪怕没有末日，谁不希望在生前能给毛孩子造个保姆机器人保驾终生呢。
如此鸡汤，没想到卖萌担当竟然是（机器）人不是狗！
真好。尤其是后半段。影院即将下线，切勿错过。
