整体很精彩，是一部带有索金鲜明个人风格的电影。稍显不足的是有点过度娱乐化了，以及控辩双方并没有形成真正意义上的对决，完全是一边倒的表演。

编剧相当扎实，两位脱口秀演员增加了不少娱乐性，穿法袍那段爆笑如雷。法官塑造是不是太纸面化了，真的是个倔强的老痴呆，只会敲榔头，也想动手扇他。
美国这类真实事件改编的电影跟非虚构文学一样，细节考究，但是太冗长，看得缺乏代入感。然而豆瓣用户就喜欢给这种电影打高分，其实是给“民主”打高分。
建制左和激进左的相爱相杀，是不破不立，有破有立的互补共存，即使在右的冷漠视角看来一概都是破坏社会稳定的危险分子。The left因为多元开放允许争论才被称为the left，但即使被分级，被离间，他们依然站在一起。
