The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 热内导演年近七旬已经很多年没什么作品了，这部法式科幻小品其实后半段略显冗长，对于人工智能的探讨也已经司空见惯，但是导演真的建立了一个很不同的未来世界不再是清一色的废土风和赛博朋克，略带复古的色调美术和法式幽默剧情很自然的融合到了一起，一个导演对电影有没有热爱观众是可以感受的，这个与众不同的未来世界值得一看。。。

科幻元素非常丰富， 但是剧情台词太拉垮了。
故事本可以很好，很深的，但讲述的方式不好，节奏也不对，浅浅几笔，没力气，也没能力深入。但后半段两个近距离对视长镜头还是很好，瞬间的脸上情绪，有感染力，有加分。
3.5 看下来一直到结局感觉都很黑暗，比较客观的视角叙事，政府强行压制言论自由，仿佛世界都不见天日。电影的摄影很棒，场景也特别还原80年代，不过缺点也特别大，就是电影太长了，没有目的性取舍且似乎又有往商业电影的节奏靠拢，明显没有把握住。

最近的网飞都上的什么呀，好失望，为啥最近我看到的剧都如此空洞，那些sex镜头何必呢，莫名其妙，边拖进度条边刷完的。房间如此高的色彩饱和度，看得眼睛不舒服，女佣人算是最佳女配，最近就想看喜剧的我，看得我一点都笑不出来，完全不理解法国人的幽默到底是什么？

开头的动画和最后的呼应做的很漂亮，尤其是穿着和服的老太变成枯骨上开出的菊花的模样。 剧情确实拍的有些零碎，乱，揭示谜底的方式也很老套。但我想我对于作品并不是抱着批判的目光去看，而是在通过作品获得一次又一次精神体验与自我解脱。 所以，喜欢这个剧情，干净的像剥开外皮的香蕉。像海的尽头被吞没的太阳，像少女的肌肤，像一颗光滑的内脏。跳动着的，温热着的，被吞没而又不消失的。 堇，从你那边能看到这边吗？这边现在放晴了。在更深处，更深处的地方，少女的暗流涌动最终在海岸线处带着残缺融为一体，やがて海へ届いた。
即便人工足够智能，法国人还是要读诗、跳舞、调情、上床。全世界人类和人工智能大团结万岁！

很棒的电影。想不到是波兰拍得。我们中国什么时候也能拍出这样的电影
让学会了专业知识和心理状态的人去对付无辜的百姓，这是这个世界上最恶毒的罪行
痛苦，看得好痛苦，美女也无法拯救这份痛苦！！不怎么会看到如此贫瘠寡淡无趣的视觉语言表现，充斥着大多的无意义，互文视角所得到的信息竟是没有区别，这两小时时长按3倍速都仍觉得折磨。
很多地方挺生硬的，也不是特别看得出要表达什么，可能导演自己尽兴了就好吧
