The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 蛮好的 挺有意思的
很喜欢对性的探讨，是Fleabag以后最喜欢的了！第三次会面谈到妈妈稍微有点过，第四次真好。
和曾经的学生坦白那里真是没想到。不过都这把年纪了，当然快乐最重要，想干什么干什么！
从头到尾只让人看到一件事，女性的性压抑。别的东西都是泛泛而谈，像男主的肌肉一样空有其型，一个训练有素的ai完成女主设定的程序。但是性压抑性羞耻这件事太值得说了所以多加一星，我现在都不知道怎么合理看待。性是不好的这件事，如果是父权制带来的，为什么没有任何男性受到过这种洗脑影响?又为什么是女性更容易emotionally attached to the sex partener?有待探索。
太喜欢了。很多个细节都很喜欢。一开始很喜欢这个女性，喜欢她的坦诚，喜欢她的克制和顾虑，喜欢她整个人的表达，不是说喜欢她的性格，是喜欢这种自然真诚，没有那些虚以委蛇的东西。后半段开始喜欢这个男的，很喜欢，感觉他很善良。甚至在那一段，女方调查了男的的真实身份那一段，我有一种感同身受的被冒犯的感觉。边界感很重要，对方自以为是好意但不尊重自己的边界感，这件事太让人愤怒了。也很喜欢最后，最后这位女性认识到了自己不应该过界，也很喜欢最后的告别。当然最喜欢的还是女性角色在里面收获的力量和自信。性愉悦不止关乎于性，也关乎更内在的东西，会让人获得精神满足充满愉悦获得力量，这些都是很珍贵的。太喜欢女性角色最后对着镜子看自己的那个自信的笑容了。最后是她自己给了自己高潮，这个寓意太好了，非常非常喜欢。
几十年只跟一个男人做爱，等丈夫死了才有机会尝试不同的性爱方式，买春还担心自己的身体让对方失望……哪个男人会担心自己稀疏的头发、肥硕的肚皮让女人作呕，他们通常只自觉才华横溢、高大威猛，哪怕是虚张声势。而女人对自己的审视却无比严苛，无论年纪几何都不满意自己的样貌、身材。女主探问男主真实姓名那一段让人感动，女性天生更关心心灵、情感，哪怕在短暂的交往中也盼望联结——这是人之为人的珍贵品质。结尾女主终于能用欣赏的眼光打量自己的裸体，真是莫大的解放。每个女人都有权享受快乐，都应该像讨好男人一样取悦自己。最后，我喜欢女导演拍的性爱场面，不刻意暴露人的身体，也不为性而性，而是点到为止，尊重而非盘剥演员的身体。想想那些粗暴践踏演员身心的男性电影艺术家吧，文明、善良与否，高下立现。

如果说Daryl的肉体惊艳了我，那Emma的演技则让我佩服到五体投地...how could she be so perfectly beautiful, vulnerable and satisfied at the same time...Emma身体上的每一条皱纹都让我看到了岁月能带给人的智慧和美好
8.5/10 男主Leo的眼睛太深邃了，盯著你看的時候很輕易地就陷進去，而且業務能力好強，完全不會給客人任何不舒適的感覺，而且還有可憐遭遇激發同情心，誰能拒絕這樣溫柔脆弱的性感尤物呢

再再次，亲密关系不限于为爱鼓掌，每个人的需求不一样，可能只是倾诉和被倾听，过程获得关注和认同，但结果都是获得安抚。更高质量的可能是双方彼此为镜，看见未被自己发现的优点，照见自己的视差之见，纠正认知偏差，获得更好的自己，心理生理上都come。
女人的快乐应该从年轻的时候就开始，避免女主一生的悲剧。但互相治愈的结尾不是我想看的，有点套路了。
话剧式的大段台词让我总觉得在看nt live ，那些情欲，那些冲突，那些唠叨，那些漫不经心，一切都让人微醺，最后彻底断片，午夜梦回时，你又会想起，然后仿佛昨日重现，终究在早上九点的人海里消失不见。
这场披着性爱包裹的温柔疗愈，绝对是年度最省钱的好剧本，三个场景配合台词与男主可观的肉体，直接解决了一切！艾玛汤普森真的太敬业了！
虽然情节完全可以预料，但最后Emma在镜头前完全展露自己的身体真的让人感动，这个爱尔兰男生也完全接住了影后的戏（而且太帅了
即使是构建的屏幕乌托邦，现实如果能朝向它迈出小小的一步也很棒啊。感觉就像一桶火药，等待着火焰的到来。～
