The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 这种题材就是欢快气氛圆满结局的格式，期待也是期待女王的登场，最后女王在share house里开心笑的时候我想的是现实中你是不喜欢别人和你一起生活的人，哈哈哈
女王家前期遇上各种需要花钱的情景也太戏剧化了。婆婆来女王家住，刚从车上下来的范儿好英国女王。喜欢婆婆给自己举办的生前婚礼，希望在我老了的时候，国内也已经有share house这种服务了，而不是只能被迫去养老院。贯穿始终的价值93000日元的包包，终于在最后被女王买下，用那笔婆婆给她的，要求她专门拿来犒劳自己的资金。

电影还涉及到了一些在经历地震这样的灾害之后，亲历者的一 些心理活动，自己成为幸存者却感到痛苦，为了能够生活下去只能远离故土等，恰好前几天是512，多年来，不止一次看到有人分享自己的“后遗症”，比起重建家园，疗愈心理创伤才更为困难吧!毕竟对于我们来说，可能只是某段时间中的新闻事件，对于亲历者来说，或许是一辈子的阴影
画面漂亮 故事简单 有些画风很有科技感和创意感 下饭的小治愈 不烧脑 不挑拨情绪 像夏天的绿豆糖水 不是很甜 但很舒服
有一个不错的开头，却没有落脚到匹配的结局（最后五分钟真就政府宣传片？？），全片唯一亮点还属松重叔各式吃相（太出戏了哈哈哈哈，他参加完父亲葬礼后总觉得他会“咕～肚子饿了呢，接下来吃些什么呢，咚咚咚咚～）#6.22 JCCC 多伦多日本电影节
故事情节让我说有些扯，但能够把传说与现代人情感和心理结合起来，虽然感觉牵强，剧情大多被我边看边猜的差不离。主人翁都是女性，女性拯救，好像好多邻国电影的主角都是女性。主要靠画面取胜，这么简单的故事梗概能被渲染到这样的程度。不建议直男观看，我是中间停顿后又继续看完的。

是因为时常原因吗？还是除魔并非主旋律？结尾过于草率了
意外地看哭了。我感觉疫情也是一样的，带来了悲伤，失望，恐惧。毫无办法，那就做力所能及的事情吧。
故事背景设置的很好 悲伤的人们成为后面妖怪出现的因由 说出“为什么是我”这句话一定很难过 但是活着就要面对 说不定什么时候就可以释怀了 希望每个迷途之人都能有温暖的家 大团圆真的太好了
一部被代入顾李的动画片，讲述的因为一场变故让互不相识的三个人住在一起，这个地方有个神奇的魔力，会让住的人越来越好。本以为治愈系动画，没想到还有一系列神话故事。
就挺适合我这种玻璃心想看看电影治愈的人！迷途之家简直是个乌托邦的存在！

蛮现实的，特别是前半段，没钱的感觉是真的窘迫…
