The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 很舒适的片子，妈咪很温柔文静，妥妥的贤妻良母，最后的台词确实“下辈子相当一个男生”。父母子女的关系，爱，情感，争吵又和解，真的太令人沉浸了。妈咪在家长会维护女儿真的酷爆了。最好的戏是抚摸水花那里和结尾掏耳朵，或许是因为有了陈绮贞老师这片子更令人舒服了

多处泪流不止，让我想起了好多过去，资优生沦为差生，对母亲的不解与恨……26岁的我回忆的是年少时的我，代入的视角却越来越理解大人的不易。爱和恨真的离得太近太近了。

很真实很真实真的很真实的一种家庭状况，那种母亲永远在为一切一切事情担心，而父亲长期的缺席，突然爆发的一些事情，就会击垮整个家庭。癌症移民非典特殊时期，家庭关系最后详细到夫妻关系亲子关系，面对截然不同的生活，作为还在成长中的孩子，敏感脆弱抱怨想逃离，母亲的懦弱让我懦弱，母亲像个镜子，她的无时无刻的消极，让整个家庭摇摇欲坠。

看了简评，才看的此片，值得一看鼓励，要放开了做，会更好。

大中华区的青春时代记忆。一些文化冲突元素下也没觉得女孩本人多“美国”，爸爸整天：别提、别说、别想和女孩对妈妈生病的回避，都令人窒息。一句我也活不久了就代表不愿好好活吗…
电影拍的03年，但有着不可思议的现实感，不久前这些台词我听到过。是不是所有妈妈都想过自由，谁也没有多少选择的余地，已经是能做到的最好了。两年前看多兰的杀妈，那时同现在一样心潮澎湃，其实恨意都很脆弱，看到结尾心中一股暖流。对的时间看了对的电影。

无论是题材背景还是色彩节奏都挺复古。一度让我认为这就是二十年前的片子。新冠下看SARS背景的台干，移民回流，两岸同胞差的只是时间。
结尾仓促， 高潮后的转变略显突兀，可能预示着那个魂牵梦绕的美国梦突然一夜之间碎了…
