The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 少数几部开3倍速的电影，情节毫无悬念，人物转变生硬，编剧水平很稚嫩

简单说是两集<律政强人>港剧，但智斗感，演技力道全无，走个标准程序。
太爱智叔了，除了半颗星给曾江，其他的都给智叔
怪闷的，有点尬。剧本其实还可以，但转折点和线索处理得非常低级。老辣律师利用程序漏洞帮当事人争取权益的点本来应该是闪光点，但也没把握好。
很难相信，曾经英美法系最注重珍贵的程序正义的香港，最终选择了这个解决方案。可见，真的是，末法时代了。 学法的人一声叹息。
剧情无聊又俗套到看了一半就睡死过去，还有那该死的国语配音，可能是港片国配里最垃圾的了。。。一星烂片，不推荐！！！
阵容还是不错的，剧情也是有些想法的。但整体制作，真就只能当网大看了。包括有几个年轻演员的表演，也是不太行。
检察官上来有罪推定就够瞧的了，剧情没有情感铺垫，故事冗长，反转太硬或者说没发展，愣上啊，如果没有有钱的爹，谁做污点证人啊。
后面的翻转太快太轻易了，前面的铺垫感觉挺浪费的
方中信演律师还是挺有气质的。李逸峰在酒吧认识漂亮的美女，一夜邂逅就变成了杀人嫌疑犯。这个案件还是比较简单，有点以前TVB港剧的感觉。
最后一段方中信说鸡汤太尬了。
《律政强人》精神续作，可惜的是智叔不是演kclau那类角色，作品看起来比较平庸甚至可以讲有点差，哎，以后再也看不到kc刘和张强的精彩对决
港片看多了感觉特庸俗，要么是满警匪对峙街枪战打不完的子弹，要么就是用不完的炸弹引爆汽车大楼，特乏味，此片不错，又见人智叔，给四星

硬伤还是太多
休息日還出港島來都來了系列。雖然情節簡單沒什麼新意，但其實還挺観やすい的，沒有節奏特別慢或者爆雷。而且雷律師和何律師一個老手一個若手還有點バディもの的感覺。「不是人人都站在雞蛋這一邊，高牆就會自己倒塌」。
想通过加厚主角的背景故事和正能量的法律理念来丰富整个故事 但实际上依然摆拍和形式主义严重 案件的推理和审理像小儿科一样 人物的塑造也极为平面单一化 更别提整个推理过程极为勉强且毫无逻辑 可惜了智叔的最后一句银幕作品
-整体不错 但是故事经不起推敲
