The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 本来这蜜汁配色就足够劝退了，没想到故事更烂，剧本杀还讲究个前后因果呢，这片子就放肆了：角色死活跟闹着玩儿一样，而且既不荒诞也不幽默，最致命的是毫无主旨。这年代还有年轻导演因为迷恋多线叙事去东施效颦，严重怀疑他们的观影量还不及小学生……
下午在影院里度过了紧张的100多分钟！票房大卖！
故事很老套，不过很喜欢穿插在中间的立交桥和配乐，以及时不时出现的筒子楼俯视仰视全景。
同工同酬对于我们这种生活低阶级的人是多么扎心。

论演技范伟，张颂文演技一如既往的棒，朱珠也算在线，惊喜是窦骁在戏中的表现。
张继聪、梁仲恒、杨伟伦和胡子彤等演员，贡献了真实而又接地气的演技。
与《两杆大烟枪》、《疯狂的石头》此类多线并行的作品不同，此片是线索逐个展开。前者会让观众拥有全知视角，后者则是拨粽子，不到最后你不知道里面是什么馅。不过可以看出导演有戏仿宁浩的地方，比如虾毛的造型神似《疯狂的赛车》里的高博，还有最后爆炸的横移镜头。
整体处理的还可以，作为导演的处女作来说，非线性叙事加上一点暴风雪山庄，成色上跟《夜·店》差不多，一开始会觉得是彻头彻尾的黑色喜剧，甚至还像在看小品，不过这样的千层饼模式一步步剥开之后才会发现主题是多么的正能量，骇人听闻的拐卖儿童的背后是对人心的探讨，新导演总是有很多想要表达的想法与手法，不过在处理上还是显得稚嫩了些，不过音乐我很喜欢，摄影与画面也可以看出导演的摄影出身，除了手法上欠佳之外还有就是大篇幅的慢镜头看多了就有些审美疲劳，其次这样做感觉太浮夸了
母爱和现实一样沉重，同工不同酬，点解没有刘德华
看到亞特蘭大殘奧以及和火車賽跑的時候腦袋麻了，會有較強帶入感，整體劇情笑中帶淚，感覺是近幾年港產片中的佳作，整部劇最大的Bug是吳君如，他兒子從出生到2008年演員都換了四個，她卻一點變化都沒有，所有的線處理的都還不錯唯一一個同工同酬的坑沒有填上，題外話殘疾運動員的確太慘
感觉会好看，吴君如果然很适合温情电影，演技很好，但是剧本差一点
小成本电影，在一个房间里发生的故事，剧本不错，到中间才明白谁是好人，结束才知道完整的真相。黑色幽默、悬疑喜剧，范伟一开口就想笑，窦骁演技也很好，性格逐渐反转不像同一个人。太多巧合又在情理之中，故事还算完善。
不过至少国产悬疑再发力，看完这部，还有扬名立万，期待。好看的国产悬疑片崛起吧，爱悬疑。
尚可，特别是交易的真相出现的时候让我愣住了一下。
中规中矩，整体的叙事结构都还不错，多线叙事也一直环环相扣的。演员演技也都不错，只是感觉节奏还是有点拉的太长，总觉得差了一口气
就……还可以？
印象最深的就是，到了外国只能打五分钟的电话，妈妈说：在那边吃多点牛肉啊美国的牛肉靓！儿子说：知道了，牛排和汉堡包这里都不用钱免费吃！
我印象中好像又是喜剧类型又是悬疑类型的电影很少，但是这部影片却能把两个类型完美的结合起来，喜剧部分有实力演员加持，相当可以，而悬疑的部分也非常的吊人胃口，情节上某些未知的事情又营造出了喜剧的效果。所以影片整体上不管是演技，还是情节设定、氛围营造，或是画面质感等等各方面都非常好。
