The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 故事和反转非常精彩，内容深刻，发人深省，涵盖的主题从女性到媒体到正义到真相，再到制度，涵盖之广，令人嗔目，值得学习。但影片本身质量一言难尽，逻辑上bug到离谱，庭审上俩律师各说各的就离谱，剪辑叙事毫无水平可言，像是一篇全靠配乐烘托的大型PPT。
前半部分和后半部分完全是两个电影的感觉 前半部分以为只是就是个印度常见简单的js案 没想到从法庭部分开始峰回路转几重反转 真相令人震惊 比韩国人还敢拍 当印度都开始文化自信时…后面的话就不说了
警察 司法 新闻 教育甚至民众的生命，不过都是政治的工具罢了。这电影太可怕了！
“你们坐的椅子是有历史的，不是坐在上面的那些人的历史，而是站起来的那些人的历史。”年轻人们，站起来吧。反转过于频繁，情节密得过分，就很刻意，失去真实和震撼感。瑕不掩瑜，主题还是高分。
本片三个关键词：阶级歧视、体制谋杀和肮脏政治。问：谁和谁是宿敌？答：百姓和政客。如果这是一部推理小说，那就是社会派法庭推理佳作！本来以为法庭上关于案件细节的逻辑推理大反转就够精彩了，没想到到了最后时刻又反了两重！且关于警长这重反的既在情理之中又在意料之外，不但呼应了前面的伏笔，这人物也更丰满立体了起来。最后一重反的虽然有点刻意，又有点不太现实，但却很好地满足了观众的情绪和心理。历朝历代老百姓都被人当棋子，舆情都被人当武器和工具，这个故事以小见大，从一个点撕开了社会黑暗的一角。水能载舟亦能覆舟，愚弄操纵百姓者必将被这变革的巨浪吞噬。
又一部印度神片，太厉害了！不得不说，印度就敢拍这一点，就让国内望尘莫及无数个层次！！！学术造假、性别歧视、媒体操控、公检法的万恶体制……几乎所有的点都说到了，个人认为任何人都应该看一看此片！除了震动、震撼、震惊……之外，我找不到词汇表达我看完之后的情绪；另外，很多时候，我们知道的真相真的就是真相么？真相背后是什么？真相是谁说的算的？其实都不重要，重要的是你相信了什么……连续反转，律师振聋发聩的诘问让人灵魂颤抖！！！
音乐加的天花乱坠 硬是凑出了一种史诗感 和律师在法庭上引证的那么多案例一样 想表达的太多了 后面律师的线太牵强了
虽然法庭戏与最后反转再反转堪称完美，但狂打5星的豆友们肯定还有别的相同的原因。
沒有鋪墊就開始煽情唱歌，庭審整個歪掉反掉了，應該圍繞程序正義和事實還原來打，結果是充斥無意義的詭辯，控方在論證死者該死被告無罪（黑人問號），辯方在證明死者不該死被告有罪（？？？）。
虽然影片时间确实太长了点，但整个故事结构还是不错的，一部反映社会现实问题的电影，竟然还整出了反转的效果。看到一半时，出现法庭戏，一开始还感觉割裂感太严重，悬疑剧一下子变法庭辩论剧了，但没想到弄出反转来了，还反转得挺好，和前面的一些细节也对上了，当然通过不停的闪回来补充说明细节还是不够自信。总的来说，是部好片子，敢拍也拍得好，推荐！另外，男主和女主的颜值是真高啊！
这种揭露政府阴谋，政治黑暗的电影还是得看韩国，无论是从影片节奏，还是讲故事的方式方法来讲都可以说完爆阿三；但阿三能拍出这样的题材的电影已算是一些国家可望而不可即的事了。当四名“罪犯”被处死，举国上下普天同庆的时候让我深感悲哀，在这鲜花，欢呼和烟花的背后，却是一名被残忍杀害香消玉损的人命，大家却都在欢呼？？？？？

反转太多其实有点毁我的观感，但是律师掷地有声地喊话还是蛮让人感动，尤其是唐山事发后不久看这个片。“一个国家的尊严等于它给女性的尊严”
故事C：肮脏政客煽动民粹主义换选票；
反转再反转的电影，人性真是个猜不透的东西
甚至无须作鞭辟入里的有力剖析表达，
至少在电影这个行业，我们现在是被印度这个“拥有13亿人口的大国”远远甩在后边了，望尘莫及。
但，它同时有着不能深究的故事逻辑，略微混乱的故事线，以及表面且杂糅的故事议题。
韩国以及印度的电影，为何敢于这么拍出黑暗，国内连拍都不敢吧，敢拍的导演演员肯定直接被封杀，几乎不可能过审，都让国民活在童话之中，感谢韩国印度拍的这种电影，让我们看清楚人性
