The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 钱老板+狗子，还要什么自行车啊？第一晚停留的城市如此混乱，当女人说出波特兰的地名时差点喷茶。每次看狗片时，都会把家犬叫过来，表情沉痛地训斥“你看看人家再看看你！”。这片子没有给我这个表现机会，当露露躺到莱利的靴子边上时，突然眼酸。养狗的人都知道，对这些毛球来说，你的鞋就是天下最棒的床和枕头。
给狗乱喂零食这点不太好吧，还有把狗单独放车里…
狗狗电影无条件支持。更难得能看到舞男哥细腻的情感！🐶🙈

老兵和社会格格不入，一心想回到军营，背负送战功狗狗去主人葬礼，然后将其安乐死的任务。老兵把妹，被狗狗干扰，误入大麻农场主家，开始了解狗狗。带着狗狗免费住酒店，结果狗狗失控袭击中东人。进监狱，被放走，和朋友训狗，得知其走出战争阴影过上新生活，和狗狗关系拉近。东西被偷，和狗狗合作找到小偷，发现对方可能是个堕落老兵，开始思考自身处境。雨夜狗狗害怕打雷，老兵温柔以待，自己恐慌症发作时，狗狗陪伴。在送狗狗去安乐死后，选择回头，放弃投身战争的想法，带着狗狗回归正常生活，和妻女修复关系。

落差太大，看预告的时候觉得很有意思，全片看完后就这？
一人一狗的自我救赎之旅！我们这些没有经历过战争的人，永远也无法理解战争带来的伤害，不管是人类，还是狗狗，他们都付出了太多，也只有他们自己才能实现自我救赎！
毫无亮点的公路片，动物题材也没什么加分，也一点也不好笑。
Different from what I thought I would be.
但是反差也还是存在的，比如在山林的那屋子里的老夫妻，看得出他们很相爱，也很善良。
查宁塔图姆和一条狗的公路旅行故事，没什么亮点，爱狗人士应该挺喜欢这个。

双双患上PTSD的人和狗互相治愈的故事，剧情挺无趣的，钱老板的美体和狗狗的表演还是值得一看的。
火灾背景、男主不时的头疼、大脑电流声、莫名暴躁、哮喘、各种情况不明断断续续的电话，让我一度以为这部电影是生死停留类型，结果整场就是主演的独角戏。人设有些暴，加上杰克演技不够稳和沉，就让这个人物更加咋呼，剧情也显得不合情理，观众看得也烦躁。如果真是生死停留类型剧本和人物倒是通顺了
